Feature Thursday - Whimsical Creations

This weeks feature is yet another fellow Etsy seller and FAM member (hey, they're my buds and I had to give them first dibs on the free, shameless promotion!) Whimsical Creations. I have to say that I, personally love all the wonderful things in this shop! The sock monkey (see below) takes up residence in my favorites to keep everybody else in line and will (hopefully) someday make his way into a box and to my house!!

1.Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Melanie and I am from Buffalo, NY. I am a SAHM of 2 children, a 7yr old boy and a 2 yr old girl.
2.What is your craft and how long have you been doing it?
I create polymer clay ornaments, figures, beads, pendants and figures. I started out making ornaments as a child out of salt dough. About 15 years ago, I started using polymer clay.
3.Where do you get your inspiration?
Most of the time I am inspired by family and friends.
4.What are your favorite materials to use?
I mainly used Sculpey and Fimo polymer clay.
5.If you could do any other profession, what would it be and why?
That's hard. I am a SAHM, some days can be really hard, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
6.What other activities do you like to do?
Anything crafty! I love to scrapbook, make jewelry, paint and make hair clips for my daughter.
7.What is your favorite flavor ice cream?
I am strange, I am not a huge fan of ice cream. I really have to be in the mood for ice cream. When I do crave ice cream....I love Vanilla Soft Serve Custard with carmel. MMMmmmm!
8.What advice do you have for people thinking of selling their handmade items?
Have patience!!! That and PROMOTE! Get out there so people see your items.
